The Dreadquake Mortar replaces my Hellcannon. Now my 1000pt all have the Legions of Azgorh keyword. I like the thematic rules “Make free with the lash” to get an extra shot in a round.
The ogre miniature is from Ristul’s Extraordinary Market, and the crew are from Darkling Games. I converted one of the crew to carry a whip.
I ordered these figs awhile ago from Darkling games, I now have a few painted up. I will post them again with other projects but in the meantime, with the few I have painted, I wanted to show why I liked them so much.
-Every fig from the seventeen-figure pack is unique.
-Bold detail making painting easy.
-Old school Chaos Dwarf feel.
-The pack also filled many holes in my force I need models for
As I inserted the above photo, I realized its a bit blurry, so I thought I’d include my next post too.
I played a bunch of Age of Sigmar games without command. Now I have enough command figures for both my units.
This is my new wizard. I bought the Dwerg pack from Darkling games for many good reason, BUT, I think this figure is one of the main reasons.
Next post I’ll show better photos of the mutants and what I’ve planned for them!
Another addition to my Warband, and a useful addition to my chaos dwarf force.
I experimented with the citadel gem paints on the eyes.
Building 1000pt lists for Age of Sigmar meant some tough sacrifices. I’ve commonly fielded the Skullcraker War Engine, to great success, but after writing up a few lists the 240pts was just a bit too much. So, I decided to fill the roll with the Iron Daemon War Engine. At 200pts it performs roughly the same role. First game out, it did pretty good.
I think it visual looks good in my Chaos Dwarf force too.
I picked up twelve Chaos Dwarf figures from Titan Wargames. Here are the first two I’ve painted. These figures have great bold lines for painting, making them very fun and satisfying to paint.
I also added an old plastic GW undead shield to tie these figures into the look of the rest of my army.
The Hellcannon has proven to be the best piece of Chaos Dwarf artillery in all my games. Sadly, it did not make the cut into the 1000pt force I’ve been painting as of late. The Hellcannon is part of the “Legacy” lists, meaning its not official list material, and it does not carry any of the Azgorh keywords. I’ve replaced it with a converted Dreadquake Mortar. I will play games with the Hellcannon again, but probably not in 1000pts or match played games.
The base is from Secret Weapon.
Collecting Old Hammer miniatures can be a daunting prospect when trying to fill holes to complete a fieldable army in what ever edition you are playing. So, it was a nice surprise when my buddy Ash at Guerrilla miniatures sent me what he had to help fill out my ranks. Thanks Ash! And thanks Jay for arranging transport! Check these two playing wargames on Ash’s channel.
The first miniature Ash sent me is new to my collection and is a figure from the Chaos Dwarf Renegades box. This was a super cool box of thematic miniatures each with his own name. I’m pleased to welcome Napper Grundrin to my ranks. (I did give Napper a shield from my undead collection).
I imagine if Napper ever meets an Ogre he will try to kill it, with no loyalties to previous owners…
